Riardon, the druid, went to speak with someone at the McSeher School of the Arcane Arts. McSeher's is the only college of magic in the Kingdom of Dawn, and he hoped to find someone who could help him hone his alchemy skill. He was greeted by a short fellow in a red robe named Gary, who then introduced Riardon to an elf named Vredisa. Vredisa told Riardon that she would assess his skill, but he would have to pay 100 gold coins and spend the next ten days crafting a healing potion. The days passed uneventfully for the others, who were enjoying some R&R in the serene city. Vredisa was pleased with Riardon's crafting ability, and told him that if he spent 30 days and 3,000 pieces of gold, she could train him to cut his crafting time in half. Not having the money, he thanked her and went on his way, but he now knows how he can speed up his potion-making (once he has the coin).
Once the party had regrouped, they met a gnome craftsman named Niada. She was about to leave to travel The Western Way so as to sell her goods. Though the road is generally safe, she still hired on the party as guards. It turned out to be a smart decision on her part; the party was attacked by sahaugin twice, and even ambushed by a cyclops!
The group had made it 22 days into the (roughly) 37 day travel between World's Edge and Caer Snave (the next closest of the Cities of Dawn) before we had to end the session for the evening.
See you in a week!
